1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Note Counter ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms. Note Counter is a free, open-source project — there is no registration, no subscription, and no payment required. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Note Counter is a free, open-source, web-based finance toolkit that includes a money counter, GST / VAT / Sales Tax calculator, Loan EMI calculator, and a built-in expression calculator with history. The source code is published under the MIT license at github.com/PATILYASHH/note-counter. The Service is and will remain free for personal and commercial use, with no advertisements and no paid tier.

Service Features Include:

3. User Responsibilities

3.1 Acceptable Use

You agree to use Note Counter only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

3.2 Data Accuracy

While we strive to provide accurate calculations, you are responsible for verifying all calculations and amounts. Note Counter should not be your sole method of financial verification for critical transactions.

4. Privacy and Data Protection

Privacy is a core principle of Note Counter. We do not collect, store, or transmit your financial data. All calculations are performed locally in your browser, and counts, history, GST/EMI records, notes, and custom currencies are stored only in your browser's localStorage. There are no advertisements and no third-party tracking. The site uses anonymous, cookieless page-view analytics (Vercel Analytics) for aggregate visitor counts only — see our Privacy Policy for full detail.

4.1 Local Storage

The Service uses your browser's localStorage to save preferences, counts, history, and notes. This data remains on your device and is not transmitted anywhere. You can clear it at any time using your browser's site-data controls or the in-app "Clear history" buttons.

4.2 Analytics

Note Counter uses Vercel Analytics for cookieless, aggregate page-view statistics so the developer can see roughly how many people visit the site. No cookies are set, no behavioural profile is built, and no personal data is collected. See Vercel's analytics privacy policy for specifics.

5. Intellectual Property Rights

5.1 Open Source License

Note Counter is released under the MIT License. The source code is freely available for inspection, modification, and distribution according to the terms of that license.
